SCIENTIFIC COMMMITTEE ASSO DPO
Anna Pouliou is Head of Privacy at Chanel in Paris. Together with her team, she advises the Maison Chanel Group in the field of policy, privacy, regulatory and legal matters.
She is also one of the 27 members of the GDPR Multi-stakeholder Expert Group and advises the European Commission on the implementation of the GDPR, as a representative of Business Europe. Anna is a member of the Scientific Commission of the Italian association ASSO DPO and is part of the board of the legal megazine Data Protection Leader. She is often a rapporteur in the field of privacy and regulation. She speaks fluently Greek, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and currently studies German.
Before starting to work for Chanel, Anna was Corporate Privacy & Data Protection Leader for GE in Brussels, supporting GE in the European market on a wide range of privacy law issues. She was previously Senior Counsel at the First Data Corporation in Frankfurt, responsible for privacy and regulatory compliance issues, as well as for public policies in the European Union. Previously, she was a consultant to Euroclear Bank SA / NV (formerly Morgnan Guaranty Trust Company of New York), Bank of New York Mellon and National Bank of Greece.
Her experience is focused on the areas of privacy, data protection, information security, antitrust, corporate compliance, financial services, e-payments and public affairs of the European Union.
Anna graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and graduated from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. She has also completed several studies, including an ACC mini MBA master's degree from Boston University in the USA, some courses in international and European law at the Rijksuniversiteit Gent in Belgium, and finally she completed a gender-oriented and multicultural University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.
Since 1999 she has been a member of the Thessaloniki Bar in Greece and a former member of the Belgian IJE and the ACC. She was director in the TABC committee in 2013.
