Alessandra Ingrao is an associate professor of labour law at the University of Milan (Statale), where she obtained her PhD and where she teaches trade union and industrial relations law and labour law (in the Faculty of Law and Legal Services and on the Artificial Intelligence degree course). 

She is the author of numerous national and international academic publications and two monographs: ‘Remote monitoring of workers and the new privacy regulations: an integrated analysis’ (Cacucci 2018) and ‘The market for working hours. Intermediation in self-employment’ (Giuffrè 2020). Her research interests focus primarily on the impact of digitalisation on labour law and organisational structures. In recent years, she has been Principal Investigator of the DATI 4.0 project (Digitalisation and Automation in Industry 4.0 Transformations) and coordinator of a team within the PRIN 2022 ESCAPES project (Experimental Sustainable & Collective Architectural Places for Employees-Carers, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Cagliari); she is also involved in other research projects as an expert on privacy and work relating to artificial intelligence. She is a member of the steering committee of the Domenico Napolitano Centre.
